Julia Cummings brings home first Badger state

Badger swimmer Julia Cummings traveled to Boise
Thursday for the 2017 Idaho High School Swimming
State Championships, and brought home Bonners
Ferry High School's first and so far only Idaho
state swimming title.
Julia, a sophomore, won the individual 1A-3A
title in the 100 back with a time of 1:04.49.
Kimberly High School won the combined team girls
title with 120 points, sweeping the relays, and
took the boys title as well with 136 points.
Julia began competing in swimming when she was
about eight years old, swimming for Carolina
Aquatics in Columbia, South Carolina for several
years before moving to Bonners Ferry two years
ago.
She competes year-round for the club team with
the Sandpoint West Athletic Club under Mike
Brosnahan. |
