Idaho is fastest growing state in job growth: The Idaho Department of Labor recently announced that Idaho’s 4.4 percent over-the-year growth of seasonally adjusted nonfarm jobs in December 2015 was the nation’s fastest – the third consecutive month Idaho has held this distinction.
BFHS Foreign Language Society Cruises the World at University of Idaho event: Just a couple of weeks ago, the BFHS Foreign Language Society visited the University of Idaho for an international heritage festival. This spectacular event was called "Cruise the World" of 2016, and shined a spotlight on many world cultures.

Valentine's Dance, Singing Valentines at BFHS: There are usually numerous activities buzzing around the Bonners Ferry High School on Valentine's Day. In past years, the BFHS Foreign Language Society (FLS) puts on an annual Valentine’s dance, which includes a photographer for taking portraits.
ITD releases video on auto safety around snowplows: You're driving cautiously down a slick, snowy Boundary County winter highway late at night. Rounding a curve, you come up behind a late-night, hard-working snowplow, clearing the road.
Scotchman Peak trail re-opens, good goat etiquette advised: Bonner County's Sandpoint area Scotchman Peak Trail #65 reopened February 12, after having been closed in September 2015 as a precautionary measure against aggressive mountain goats.
Ready, Set, Jump! The icy, fun Penguin Plunge is coming up: For the sixth year, teams and Law Enforcement Officers will be “Taking the Plunge” by jumping into Kootenai River to raise funds for Idaho Special Olympics. This year's Penguin Plunge has been set for Saturday, March 19.
Hospital Auxiliary's Annual Pie Sale a tasty success: Thank you to everyone who donated or purchased pies to the famous Hospital Auxiliary Pie Sale on Thursday, February 11. Ninety-six pies were donated, and we raised over $1,500.
Two wanted men arrested by local law enforcement after vehicle pursuit: Boundary County Sheriff's officers arrested two men yesterday on Brown Creek Road following a 2 ½ mile vehicle pursuit.

Anglers needed to catch Clearwater River steelhead for hatcheries: Idaho Fish and Game wants young steelhead released into the South Fork of the Clearwater River to be from parents taken from that river, so the department is asking anglers to catch local spawners to fill nearby hatcheries.
Don’t dump unwanted domestics into Idaho: It seems every year Idaho Fish and Game gets a few calls, emails or visits from citizens wanting to know the identity of some exotic creature they encountered.
Volunteer hunter education instructors needed: Idaho’s hunter education program is looking for new volunteer instructors to help ensure that the newest generation of hunters has a thorough understanding of safety, ethics and conservation.
Learn animal tracking at NIC Sandpoint class: It’s not too late to sign up for North Idaho College at Sandpoint’s “Animal Tracking” class taught by wilderness expert and author Brian Baxter on February 6.

Sheriff's Race: "the whole package:" I started working side by side with Dave Kramer in 1981 when I started as a patrol officer for the Bonners Ferry Police Department (BFPD). Our shifts were overlapping, so we spent a great deal of time together. I came to rely on his judgement and knowledge regularly.
Thoughts on Boundary County Sheriff election: I would like to share a few words about one of our candidates running for sheriff, a good friend of mine, Dave Kramer.
Concerned that quarterly reports not posted: For the second quarter in a row, the City of Moyie Springs has failed to post, as mandated by Idaho law, the financial quarterly report.
Thanks for help on document request: I would like to thank the Boundary County prosecutor and staff for taking my complaint concerning document requests from the City of Moyie Springs seriously.
