County roads starting to reopen to hauling
|
April 5, 2011 |
After nearly two weeks of closure, Boundary
County Road and Bridge this week began opening
some of the county's roads to hauling as weather
conditions, ahem, improve.
Roads now open to hauling are Bus Road, David
Thompson Road, Dayton Way, Depot Road, District
2 Road, East Mountain View, Fawn Lane, Giles
Connection, Great Northern Road, Hagen Road,
Hillcrest Road, Industrial Way, Kings Row Road,
Lannigan Road, Pack River Road, Pheasant Run
Road, Schoolhouse Road, Stagecoach Road, Sunrise
Road, Tall Timber Road, Three Mile Road and
Wheeler Road.
Roads that have partially reopened are Blume
Hill Road, which has opened from the junction at
Roosevelt Road north to Highway 2, Copeland
Road, which is now open from Highway 1 west to
Meyer's hanger, Deep Creek Loop, which is open
from the Highway 95 junction north to the
railroad tracks at the Welco Mill, Deer Park
Road is now open to the bottom of Myer's Hill.
Farm to Market Road has reopened from Porthill
south to Munson's pit, but remains closed from
the Copeland Road junction north. Fleming Creed
road to the top of the hill is open, and
Roosevelt Road is open except from Blune Hill
Road west to the junction with Highway 2.
Those who are hauling critical supplies can get
a special permit to allow delivery on closed
county roads. To find out more, call Renee at
Boundary County Road and Bridge, (208) 267-3838.
While the Boundary County weather is getting
somewhat better for road conditions, it has many
local residents wondering if we'll ever see
spring. There was fresh snow on the ground
throughout much of the county over the weekend,
and nothing but mostly gray skies, gusty winds
and rain so far this week ... and more is
forecast for the next several days.
If the adage holds true, May should be full of
flowers, because we're sure getting the April
showers. |
